Former Olympian Adi Bichman Named CEO of Israel Olympic Committee

With eyes on Paris and Los Angeles, Bichman brings elite experience and national pride to lead Israel’s Olympic future.

In a unanimous and celebrated decision, the Israel Olympic Committee has appointed former Olympic swimmer Adi Bichman as its new CEO, marking a significant new chapter in Israeli sport leadership ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Bichman, 42, brings an exceptional blend of athletic, administrative, and academic experience to the role. A high-performance athlete who represented Israel on the international stage, Bichman has since become one of the most respected figures in Israeli sports governance, currently serving as chair of the Israeli Swimming Association and previously leading the Olympic Committee’s professional committee during the Paris 2024 cycle.

Her appointment follows an extensive search process led by IOC President Yael Arad, Vice President Amit Oberkovich, and Treasurer Moshe Goldstein. “Adi Bichman is a remarkable professional who has gone through every significant stage of development that prepares someone for leadership in sport,” Arad said, praising her “multidimensional capabilities” and deep understanding of the Olympic movement.

For Bichman, the role is more than a career milestone it’s a mission. “It is a great privilege to help lead Israeli sport to new heights, even in a complex and dynamic era,” she said. “The expectations are high, the challenges are many, but Israeli sport consistently proves itself.”

Beyond her athletic credentials, Bichman holds academic degrees in computer science, sports management, psychology, gender studies, and Olympic studies. She is active in international sports forums and currently heads the School of Health Professions at Ono Academic College.

Her leadership comes at a critical moment as Israeli athletes prepare for the 2026 Winter Games in Milan-Cortina and begin building toward Los Angeles 2028. Bichman emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration across federations and support platforms, with a focus on performance, professionalism, and pride.

She also paid tribute to outgoing CEO Gili Lustig, thanking him for his years of service and commitment to Israeli sport. Lustig will remain involved through the Winter Games, ensuring a smooth transition.

With Adi Bichman at the helm, Israel’s Olympic ambitions are in strong, experienced hands and the path to the podium is paved with purpose and vision.
