2024 Spring Competition Winners Unveiled by America-Israel Cultural Foundation

The America-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF) has announced the winners of its prestigious 2024 Spring Competition, a major platform for young Israeli musicians poised for international careers.

The competition, which took place at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, featured 28 talented contestants between the ages of 21 and 30 competing in four disciplines: piano, viola, violin, and woodwinds.

At the conclusion of the final round, the following winners were announced:

• Piano: Itamar Feinberg

• Violin: Michael Shaham

• Viola: Noga Shaham

• Woodwinds: Doron Hazan (saxophone)

• Outstanding Performance of an Israeli Work Prize: Doron Hazan (saxophone) and Elad Navon (clarinet)

The competition serves as a springboard for young musicians, providing exposure to critics, audiences, and performance opportunities, both in Israel and abroad. Winners also receive career development support, including radio broadcasts and international connections.

Iris Reff-Ronen, CEO of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, praised the extraordinary talent displayed throughout the competition.

Reff-Ronen also emphasized the competition’s emotional significance, particularly in challenging times for Israel.

“The Spring Competitions, one of the highlights of Israel’s musical culture, also provide moments of healing and comfort. The judging process was demanding, and ultimately, the winners were announced. I congratulate them and am excited to continue with them on their journey.”

Since its founding in 1939, the AICF has played a pivotal role in shaping Israel’s musical and artistic landscape, supporting thousands of musicians, dancers, and visual artists. Many of its past winners have gone on to global success, performing with major orchestras and ensembles worldwide.
