‘Flamethrower’ Assault on Jewish Community in Boulder Under FBI Probe

Jewish demonstrators targeted with incendiary device during pro-hostage rally in Colorado.

In a chilling incident that has shocked the Jewish community and drawn national attention, the FBI is investigating an attack on a Jewish rally in Boulder, Colorado, as a potential hate crime and act of terrorism.

The attack occurred during a peaceful demonstration in support of the hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza. Participants, many elderly, were targeted by 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who allegedly unleashed a makeshift flamethrower and threw an incendiary device while shouting “Free Palestine.”

Eight people four women and four men, aged between 52 and 88 were hospitalized following the violent assault. Law enforcement initially reported six injuries before updating the count. The victims had gathered to express solidarity with hostages and advocate for their release, exercising their democratic right to peaceful protest.

“This was a targeted act of violence,” said FBI Special Agent Mark Michalek at a press conference. “The FBI is investigating this as an act of terrorism.” He noted the increasing frequency of such attacks nationwide, calling the trend “deeply concerning.”

Despite clear witness accounts, Boulder Police Chief Steven Redfearn urged caution in prematurely assigning motive, though he acknowledged the FBI’s concurrent hate crime investigation.

This incident comes amid a global rise in antisemitic violence, much of it sparked by warped narratives and incitement tied to the Israel-Hamas conflict. The use of an improvised weapon against unarmed civilians demonstrates the danger of unchecked hate and the urgent need for stronger protections for Jewish communities.

For those standing with Israel and advocating for truth and justice, this attack is yet another painful reminder that hatred doesn’t distinguish between protest signs and prayer shawls. It sees only a target.

As the investigation unfolds, Israel’s supporters around the world are reaffirming their stance: antisemitism has no place in any society. Share this article to help expose hate wherever it hides and subscribe to our newsletter for continued coverage on issues that matter to our community.
