Candace Owens Admits Fixation on Jews as Antisemitic Claims Escalate
Online statements fuel concern as commentator pushes conspiracies targeting Israel and Jewish communities.

American commentator Candace Owens has openly acknowledged that she has become “obsessed” with Jews, after months of escalating rhetoric accusing Israel and Jewish individuals of conspiracies tied to U.S. politics and public life. Her admission came in response to a social media user who asked why her posts continually focus on Jews.
“Because they are so obsessed with me. Feeling is mutual now,” Owens replied.
The exchange followed Owens’s latest insinuation that an unnamed group is attempting to “infiltrate” the MAGA movement and “control” former U.S. President Donald Trump, while also alleging interference surrounding the late Charlie Kirk, the pro-Israel activist who was assassinated last year. Owens has repeatedly suggested without evidence that Israel or Jewish organizations played a role in his death.
Investigators have charged Tyler Robinson, 22, in the case, pointing to a personal motive linked to Robinson’s hostility toward Kirk’s public messaging on gender identity. There is no evidence connecting Israel or Jewish groups to the crime. In fact, Kirk’s family, colleagues, and Jewish organizations publicly mourned him and praised his long record of support for Israel. A letter published after his death further confirmed Kirk remained strongly pro‑Israel.
Owens’s fixation did not begin with this case. In recent months, she has:
Claimed elites “plant” people in U.S. politics on Israel’s behalf
Suggested Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel lied about his experiences
Accused New York figures and Jewish institutions of controlling media narratives
Questioned the historical authenticity of the Star of David
Referred to the conservative satire site Babylon Bee as the “Zionist Bee”
Jewish civil rights advocates warn that Owens’s messaging resembles classic antisemitic conspiracy language, portraying Jews as powerful manipulators steering global politics. Such rhetoric, especially when amplified online, has historically fueled hostility and violence.
A user responding to Owens’s latest comments wrote that the Jewish community once saw her as an ally. “You were loved and respected by almost all the Jews including myself,” the commenter said. “But instead of stopping to rectify things, you blamed everyone around you.”
At a time when antisemitic incidents in North America have risen sharply since October 7, her words land in a climate where Jewish communities are already facing increased intimidation, anxiety, and real danger.
Israel and Jewish life are not abstractions they are families, students, communities, and individuals who contribute in every sphere of society. Attempts to portray them as sinister or inhuman are not “political critique”; they are attacks on real people.
Israel and Jewish communities around the world continue to stand strong, thriving in culture, innovation, and shared identity.
