Nitzana Darshan-Leitner to Speak at New York Conference on Legal Battles Against Terrorism
Founder of Shurat HaDin to highlight Israel’s fight in The Hague and the legal defense of IDF soldiers worldwide.

At a time when global headlines are dominated by complex legal and diplomatic challenges to Israel’s legitimacy, Attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner continues to lead one of the country’s most critical battles this time from courtrooms across the world.
Darshan-Leitner, founder of the Shurat HaDin Israel Law Center, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Jerusalem Post Conference on May 19 at the Pierre Hotel in Manhattan. The Israeli attorney is internationally known for pioneering legal action against terror organizations and those who fund and enable them from Iran and Hamas to North Korea and even financial institutions complicit in laundering blood money.
What began as a bold initiative during the Second Intifada when she took up Meir Dagan’s challenge to “go after the money” has grown into one of Israel’s most impactful legal operations. With hundreds of lawsuits and millions secured in judgments for terror victims, Darshan-Leitner’s legal activism continues to shift the global conversation from victimhood to justice.
A resident of the Hashmonaim community and a mother of six, Darshan-Leitner worked alongside Israel’s covert “Harpoon” unit tasked with undermining terrorism through economic warfare. She channeled those early experiences into founding Shurat HaDin, now a powerhouse in the international legal landscape.
"Since the October 7 massacre, Israel has faced battles beyond the battlefield," she explains. "The threat looming for years in The Hague has now materialized." She is referring to the deeply politicized move to issue arrest warrants against Israel’s Prime Minister and Defense Minister at the International Criminal Court. In response, Darshan-Leitner and her organization became the only Israeli group to formally defend Israel’s leaders in this forum.
At the New York conference, she will detail Shurat HaDin’s formation of an international task force created to protect IDF soldiers from potential detentions or legal harassment abroad stemming from these politicized accusations.
In parallel, Darshan-Leitner has spearheaded a wide-ranging legal and public campaign against the global BDS movement, the spread of antisemitism, and false allegations of Israeli war crimes. Her actions stand as a stark reminder that while Israel defends itself in Gaza and along its borders, it must also wage war in the court of world opinion armed with truth, facts, and law.
Darshan-Leitner’s presence at the conference will serve as a powerful voice for victims of terror, defenders of Israel, and the legal community standing against a dangerous double standard in international law.
