DiCaprio Advances Eco-Hotel Project at Herzliya Marina
Hollywood star and Israeli partners push forward with one of Israel’s most sustainable luxury hotels.

Hollywood actor and long-time environmental advocate Leonardo DiCaprio is making headlines in Israel not for a film, but for a pioneering green development on the country’s Mediterranean coast. DiCaprio, in partnership with Israeli real estate giant Hagag Group and brothers Ahikam and Lior Cohen, is moving forward with a massive eco-luxury hotel at Herzliya Marina.
The Tel Aviv District Planning and Building Committee has given its stamp of approval for the 51,000-square-meter project. Once completed, the 14-story structure will house 365 rooms and include an 8,000-square-meter parking garage. It’s a major expansion from the original 2018 plan, which envisioned just 180 suites across two six-story buildings.
DiCaprio holds a 10% stake in the development and has brought his well-known environmental values directly into the project’s DNA. Designed to meet U.S. Green Building Council LEED certification standards, the hotel aims to become one of Israel’s most sustainable hospitality ventures. From energy efficiency to eco-conscious construction materials, every detail reflects a commitment to environmental excellence.
This isn’t DiCaprio’s first Israeli investment. He’s previously backed Mobli, a social media startup, and Aleph Farms, a trailblazer in cultivated meat technology. But this hotel marks a new scale of involvement, merging green ideals with Israel’s growing reputation for innovation and luxury.
Located just north of Tel Aviv, Herzliya Marina is a natural fit for the project. Known for its beautiful coastline and thriving high-tech hub, the area continues to attract international investment and acclaim.
DiCaprio’s collaboration with Israeli partners not only brings prestige but underscores the global appeal of Israeli innovation and sustainability. This venture signals that when it comes to building the future both in hospitality and environmental responsibility Israel is leading the way.
