Dua Lipa Reportedly Drops Jewish Agent Over Pro-Israel Letter

Move comes amid rising pressure in UK music industry to boycott Israel and block streaming access.

Pop star Dua Lipa has reportedly cut ties with her longtime Jewish agent, David Levy, after he signed a letter urging the Glastonbury Festival to drop the Irish rap group Kneecap, whose lead singer faces terrorism charges in the UK for allegedly waving a Hezbollah flag at a concert.

Levy, a senior figure at William Morris Endeavor, was one of the first signatories of the letter. While Dua Lipa remains represented by the agency, the Daily Mail reported she has moved her management away from Levy.

A source told the paper: “Dua made sure through her people that David Levy wasn’t working on her music anymore. She is very openly pro-Palestine and that doesn’t align with David. She views him as being a supporter of Israel’s war in Gaza, and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis,” Glastonbury’s organizer.

The news comes as artists in the UK intensify efforts to boycott Israel in the cultural sphere. Several musicians, including Massive Attack, Bjork, and Kneecap, have joined an initiative to block their music from streaming in Israel, describing it as a cultural counterpart to the “Film Works for Palestine” movement targeting Israeli cinema institutions.

Massive Attack urged fellow artists to join the campaign, writing on Instagram. “We’d appeal to all musicians to transfer their sadness, anger and artistic contributions into a coherent, reasonable and vital action to end the unspeakable hell being visited upon the Palestinians hour after hour.”

Kneecap, which has drawn controversy for its pro-Hezbollah affiliations, has already been banned from Canada and recently canceled a sold-out US tour.

Dua Lipa herself has long been critical of Israel. In May, she was among more than 300 celebrities who signed a letter to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer urging him to end what they called Britain’s “complicity” in Israel’s war against Hamas, launched after the terror group’s October 7, 2023 massacre and hostage-taking.

The singer’s parting with her Jewish agent highlights how deeply the boycott campaign against Israel has penetrated the entertainment industry and how Jewish professionals in the field are increasingly singled out for their support of Israel’s right to self-defense.
