President Daniel Naboa of Ecuador Wears Hostage Pin During Western Wall Visit
Daniel Noboa prays at Judaism’s holiest site, affirming Ecuador’s solidarity with Israel and support for hostages still held by Hamas.

In a poignant moment of solidarity, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Sunday evening, wearing a hostage pin on his lapel a quiet but powerful gesture of support for the Israeli families still waiting for their loved ones held in Gaza.
Noboa, the youngest president in Ecuador’s history, is currently on an official state visit to Israel, leading a high-level delegation to mark 75 years of bilateral friendship between the two countries. During his stop at the Western Wall, he was welcomed by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, who explained the site’s deep spiritual significance to the Jewish people.
Together, the two read Psalm 121, a verse traditionally invoked in times of hardship and divine appeal. Following the reading, President Noboa took a private moment of reflection, placing a personal prayer note between the ancient stones joining countless pilgrims in an act of spiritual connection and humility.
Afterward, Noboa met privately with Rabbi Rabinowitz, where he reaffirmed Ecuador’s unwavering support for Israel and the Jewish people. He emphasized that just as Israel battles terror to defend innocent civilians, Ecuador is also confronting threats to peace and security within its own borders. “We stand with Israel in its just struggle,” Noboa stated.
The Ecuadorian leader's expression of empathy and alignment with Israel, especially in wearing the hostage pin, underscores the gravity of the ongoing hostage crisis and the global resonance it continues to evoke. His visit to the Wall is not just symbolic it is a testament to Ecuador's recognition of Israel’s enduring right to security, dignity, and spiritual sovereignty.
President Noboa’s visit includes meetings with President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, and Defense Minister Israel Katz, further strengthening diplomatic and strategic ties between the two nations.
As allies across continents unite in shared values and common purpose, gestures like these remind us of the depth of international support for Israel’s cause and the unbreakable bond between nations that champion freedom, faith, and life.
