Elbit Wins $60M Contract for Counter-UAV Systems in Europe

The Israeli defense company will provide its advanced ReDrone system to counter the growing threat of unmanned aerial systems.

Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems has secured a $60 million contract to provide its Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) to a European country, the company announced Monday. The deal, which will be fulfilled over the next three years, reinforces Israel’s position as a global leader in defense technology and electronic warfare.

Elbit will supply its state-of-the-art ReDrone™ modular C-UAS solution, an advanced system that integrates multiple technologies, including:

  • DAiR Radar for aerial threat detection

  • SIGINT (Signal Intelligence) sensors for electronic surveillance

  • Electronic Warfare (EW) countermeasures to disrupt hostile drones

  • Electro-Optical (EO) day/night payloads for real-time tracking

The ReDrone system is designed to detect, locate, and neutralize multiple drones simultaneously across different communication channels. Unlike standard active and passive sensors, it provides a fully integrated aerial picture while delivering high-end electronic attack capabilities.

This technology is crucial for defending against the increasing threat of drone warfare, which has become a growing concern for militaries worldwide. The system is operational in urban and rural environments, functions effectively in all weather conditions, and operates seamlessly around the clock.

Elbit Systems’ General Manager of ISTAR & EW, Oren Sabag, highlighted the importance of the contract, emphasizing the rising global threat posed by unmanned aerial systems. “This contract, coming amid the rising threat of UAS, follows a series of contracts awarded to us in the CUAS field," Sabag said.

He also noted that the deal with another NATO member state reflects confidence in Elbit’s electronic warfare, SIGINT, radar, and EO technologies, solidifying Israel’s reputation as a leading defense innovator.

This latest contract builds on Elbit’s growing presence in European defense markets. In December 2024, the company secured two contracts worth a total of $175 million to supply Electronic Warfare (EW) and Directed Infrared Countermeasure (DIRCM) self-protection suites to another European NATO country.

As security threats evolve, Israel’s cutting-edge defense technology continues to play a crucial role in protecting allied nations from modern aerial threats. With drone warfare becoming a central concern in global conflicts, Elbit’s advanced solutions are ensuring that Israel and its allies maintain their military edge.
