Elbit Systems secures $1.6 billion European defense contract
Five-year deal includes precision strike weapons, drones, and advanced intelligence systems for unnamed European nation.

Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems has signed a $1.635 billion contract to provide an array of cutting-edge military solutions to an undisclosed European country over the next five years, the company announced Wednesday.
The package includes two major categories of technology. The first comprises long-range precision strike artillery-rocket systems, operational and tactical unmanned aerial combat platforms, and reconnaissance drones. The second centers on ISTAR (intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance) capabilities, including SIGINT (signals intelligence), COMINT (communications intelligence), and electronic warfare systems.
These ISTAR solutions also incorporate intelligence collection and processing technologies, advanced electro-optical and night vision systems, and combat vehicle upgrades with enhanced protection. Elbit will additionally supply military digitalization and Network Combat Solutions based on advanced hardware and secure communications equipment.
“This contract reflects the strong demand for Elbit Systems’ cutting-edge technologies in Europe,” said Elbit President and CEO Bezhalel Machlis. “It demonstrates our ability to deliver integrated, multi-domain solutions tailored to modern defense needs. We are proud to support a European nation in strengthening its national security through this strategic partnership.”
The agreement also includes industrial cooperation to bolster the purchasing country’s domestic defense manufacturing capabilities.
The announcement follows another major Elbit deal earlier this week, when Israel’s Defense Ministry ordered advanced air-to-ground munitions worth approximately NIS 900 million. These newly developed weapons alongside Elbit’s portfolio of supersonic missiles, rockets, and penetration bombs are part of Israel’s broader push to boost local production for the IDF’s ongoing and future operational needs.
From the battlefield to the command center, Elbit Systems’ technologies continue to draw global interest, reinforcing Israel’s reputation as a leader in defense innovation.
