Elise Stefanik Pledges to Combat Antisemitism at the United Nations

The U.S. ambassador-designate vows to uphold America-first policies and defend Israel on the global stage.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) has vowed to combat antisemitism at the United Nations as she prepares to assume her role as the U.S. ambassador to the global body. Speaking on Tuesday at the Endowment for Middle East Truth’s (EMET) annual awards dinner in Washington, Stefanik described the U.N. as a “den of antisemitism” and pledged to stand firmly against its bias against Israel.

“Even before the barbaric terrorist attacks by Hamas on Oct. 7, the U.N. has continuously betrayed Israel and betrayed America, acting as an apologist for Iran and their terrorist proxies,” Stefanik told the audience.

In her first major public address since being named ambassador-designate by President-elect Donald Trump, Stefanik reaffirmed her commitment to defending Israel and promoting Trump’s “America-first, peace-through-strength policies.” She promised to bring “crystal-clear moral clarity” to the U.N. from her first day in office.

Stefanik has been a vocal advocate for Israel throughout her career. During her time as chair of the House Republican Conference, she led efforts to confront antisemitism on U.S. college campuses, including her role on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

At the dinner, she highlighted the urgency of securing the release of over 100 hostages, including seven Americans, held by Hamas in Gaza. “We must not stop, and we will not stop until every hostage is brought home,” Stefanik declared.

EMET honored Stefanik with its Speaker of Truth Award, recognizing her steadfast support for Israel and her efforts to combat antisemitism. The organization praised her leadership in Congress and her commitment to defending the Jewish state on the international stage.

As she prepares to transition from Congress to the United Nations, Stefanik’s speech underscored her dedication to confronting global antisemitism and advocating for justice and security for Israel.
