Boxing Icon Floyd Mayweather Pledges $1M to United Hatzalah

Boxing legend honored for supporting Israel and lifesaving efforts.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather donated $1 million to United Hatzalah of Israel during the organization’s annual Miami Gala on Thursday evening. The sold-out event, attended by over 1,700 supporters, raised a total of $14 million to fund United Hatzalah’s lifesaving efforts across Israel.

Mayweather was presented with United Hatzalah’s Champion of Israel award for his unwavering support of the Jewish state, particularly during the recent Swords of Iron War. In October, he donated 100 bulletproof helmets and vests to protect United Hatzalah volunteers, who risk their lives responding to emergencies under fire.

“You are all fighters. I am a former fighter, but we keep fighting every day,” Mayweather said at the gala. Addressing Eli Beer, the organization’s founder, Mayweather added, “Eli, you and United Hatzalah are doing such a great job. I will be here until the casket drops, supporting you and standing behind you as long as there are people who need your help.”

The evening featured performances by comedian Jay Leno, an honorary board member of United Hatzalah, and Mem, the masked Israeli singer who recently served on the IDF frontlines.

Philanthropist Dr. Miriam Adelson, a long-time supporter of United Hatzalah, received special recognition during the event. Mayweather gifted her a diamond necklace in the shape of United Hatzalah’s logo, calling her “not just a good woman, but a great woman.” Adelson praised the spirit of United Hatzalah volunteers, recalling their bravery during the October 7 attacks.

Other notable attendees included philanthropist Sylvan Adams and Jason and Naomi Greenblatt, who announced the donation of an advanced lifesaving vehicle for Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem.

Mayweather, 47, is widely regarded as one of the greatest boxers in history, winning championships in five weight classes. His generosity and commitment to humanitarian causes extend beyond the ring, with his support for Israel and United Hatzalah reinforcing his dedication to making a global impact.

“The spirit of United Hatzalah volunteers is that they don’t give up,” said Adelson, echoing the sentiment of the evening.

Mayweather’s donation and the collective efforts of the gala’s attendees highlight the importance of United Hatzalah’s mission to save lives and foster hope in times of crisis.
