Floyd Mayweather Rings Opening Bell at Tel Aviv Stock Exchange

The world champion boxer joins IDF soldiers in a show of solidarity with Israel.

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather opened trading at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) on Monday morning, joining IDF soldiers and Israeli leaders in a ceremony that highlighted international solidarity with the Jewish state.

Mayweather, a former world champion and global sports icon, is visiting Israel as part of a private delegation aimed at strengthening the country’s image abroad. Standing alongside soldiers who have been on the front lines since the October 7 Hamas massacre, Mayweather expressed his admiration and support for Israel.

“I love Israel,” Mayweather said during the ceremony. “The people here are incredibly resilient. It’s a beautiful and welcoming country, and I’ll continue to visit and offer my support always.”

TASE CEO Itay Ben-Zeev praised Mayweather’s presence as a powerful symbol of encouragement for Israelis during challenging times.“Israel’s true strength is measured by its people by our soldiers, and those who stand by us when we need it most,” Ben-Zeev said. “Floyd Mayweather’s presence brings an emotional wave of support, especially in moments like these. His resilience throughout his career mirrors the determination with which Israel’s soldiers and citizens confront challenges daily. On behalf of all of the Stock Exchange’s employees many of whom are currently serving in reserves we express our heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation.”

Mayweather’s visit is part of a growing wave of international figures publicly showing their support for Israel, both in its economic endeavors and in its fight against terrorism.
