Pizza Delivery Turns Into Baby Delivery for Israeli Food Order Worker
MDA Volunteer Steps In to Help a Woman in Labor During Routine Pizza Delivery.
What started as a routine pizza delivery turned into a life-changing experience for Ilan Buaron, a 22-year-old food service worker for Wolt and a Magen Dovid Adom (MDA) emergency volunteer. On a late Tuesday night in Ramat Gan, Buaron was on his way to deliver a pizza when he received an MDA alert asking for assistance with a woman in labor nearby.
Realizing he was close to the scene, Buaron immediately changed course, arriving at the woman’s home to find her in the advanced stages of labor, along with her husband and mother. Though he had never assisted in a live birth before, Buaron relied on his MDA training to successfully help the woman deliver a healthy baby boy.
In the middle of this unexpected delivery, Buaron messaged his employer to explain the delay, writing, “I received a notification of an active birth on the way to the delivery address. I stopped here and helped the woman deliver her baby.”
Wolt quickly arranged for a new pizza to be made and delivered to the original customer, who surely understood the reason for the delay. The pizza Buaron had been carrying ended up feeding the ambulance crew that arrived on the scene.
Buaron’s quick thinking and calm response transformed an ordinary pizza delivery into a heartwarming story, proving that sometimes late deliveries come with incredible reasons.
