Forensic Analysis Debunks Hamas Claims on Shiri Bibas's Death
Examination Confirms No Link Between Israeli Airstrike and Hostage’s Death.

A forensic investigation has confirmed that Shiri Bibas was not killed by an Israeli airstrike, refuting claims made by Hamas. The analysis was conducted by Dr. Chen Kugel, director of the National Institute of Forensic Medicine (Abu Kabir) in Tel Aviv, who announced the findings on Saturday.
“We identified Shiri Bibas two days after confirming the identities of her two young children, Kfir and Ariel,” Kugel stated. “Our examination found no injuries consistent with a bombing.”
Hamas had alleged that Bibas and her children were killed in an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) airstrike in Gaza. However, the forensic evidence directly contradicts this narrative, shedding light on the extent of Hamas’s disinformation tactics. “We were met with depths of evil and malice that could not be conceived,” Kugel added.
On Thursday, Hamas returned the bodies of Kfir and Ariel Bibas along with that of 85-year-old Oded Lifshitz. The fourth body, initially claimed by Hamas to be Shiri Bibas, was later identified as belonging to an unidentified woman. Shiri’s actual remains were handed over to the IDF by the Red Cross on Friday night and were subsequently examined by Israeli forensic experts.
“This is a difficult day for us and for all citizens of Israel,” Kugel concluded.
Forensic findings also confirmed that Kfir and Ariel were murdered in cold blood by their captors. The IDF stated that Palestinian terrorists killed the children “with their bare hands” weeks after their abduction during Hamas’s brutal attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023.
The massacre on October 7 saw Gazan terrorists break into the Bibas family’s safe room using a drill and other equipment. The horrifying video of Shiri’s kidnapping desperately shielding her children from masked men with weapons became a harrowing symbol of the attack. Shiri’s parents, Yossi and Margit Silberman, were murdered that same day.
After 484 days in Hamas captivity, Yarden Bibas, Shiri’s husband, was freed on February 1. Despite his release, the family’s tragedy remains a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by Hamas.
According to the Israeli government, 63 hostages remain in Gaza, with 36 confirmed deceased and 27 alive. Another four bodies are expected to be released this coming Thursday.
Israel’s resolve to bring all hostages home, both living and deceased, remains unwavering. The country continues to demand accountability and justice for the victims of terrorism.
