With 108 Million Followers, Gal Gadot Raises Awareness for Hostage Liri Albag

Israeli Actress Calls for the Release of Hostages Held by Hamas.

Israeli actress Gal Gadot took to Instagram on Sunday to raise awareness about Liri Albag, a 19-year-old Israeli hostage abducted by Hamas on October 7. Sharing Albag’s photo with her 108 million followers, Gadot urged for immediate action to bring the hostages home.

“This is Liri, only 19 years old. She was abducted by Hamas on October 7th,” Gadot wrote. She referenced a recent video released by Hamas showing Albag as proof of life, but noted the painful reality that “Liri, along with 99 other hostages, has been held captive in Hamas tunnels for over 450 days.”

As she prepared to attend the Golden Globes, Gadot expressed the deep emotional conflict she felt. “While I prepare for a festive and joyous evening, my heart is heavy, and my soul aches knowing the hostages are still there,” she wrote. She called for urgent action, emphasizing that “every day that passes without an agreement puts their lives in greater danger.”

The video of Albag released by Hamas on Saturday sent shockwaves through Israel. The Hostages Families Forum, citing her family, described their heartbreak. “Today’s video has torn our hearts to pieces. This is not the daughter and sister we know. She is not well her severe psychological distress is evident,” they said.

Albag, one of the female IDF observers kidnapped from Nahal Oz, remains in captivity, just dozens of kilometers from home. Her family, along with countless Israelis, continues to demand her safe return.

Israel remains steadfast in its mission to bring all hostages home. Share this article and stay informed by subscribing to our newsletter.
