Hamas to Begin Hostage Release at 8 a.m.

Handover to the Red Cross to occur simultaneously from three Gaza locations under negotiated plan.

Early Monday morning, Hamas informed the International Committee of the Red Cross that it would begin transferring hostages starting 8:00 a.m. from three separate points within Gaza. The move follows a technical coordination meeting held overnight between Hamas and Red Cross representatives to prepare the handover.

According to officials cited by Saudi media Asharq, Hamas will determine and later disclose the exact dates and drop‑off locations to the Red Cross. In its update, Hamas also briefed the Red Cross on the condition of the still‑living hostages, though it did not provide further medical or security details.

The exchange is expected to unfold simultaneously at the three handover points. Mediators working behind the scenes have submitted a fresh roster of Palestinian prisoners to be released but notably, the names of senior figures like Marwan Barghouti are excluded from the list at this stage.

In recent days, Red Cross vehicles have been seen en route to central Gaza, foreshadowing the handover operation. Reportedly, mediators are still negotiating “until the last minute” to refine the exchange list and its logistics.

If carried out, this handover could mark one of the final steps in the negotiated phase of the conflict, bringing long-awaited hope to hostages’ families across Israel.

Israel has already confirmed that thirteen remaining living hostages were delivered to the Red Cross earlier today, and that all 20 surviving captives have now been freed under the ceasefire agreement.

As Israel moves to reunite these hostages with their families, the people’s faith in their homeland, its defenders, and in a future of peace only deepens.
