IDF Reveals Body Returned by Hamas Is Not Shiri Bibas

Israel Demands Accountability for Violation of Hostage Agreement.

In a shocking revelation on Friday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the body Hamas returned, which the terror group claimed to be Shiri Bibas, does not belong to the 33-year-old mother of Ariel and Kfir Bibas. The Israeli National Institute of Forensic Medicine and the Israel Police identified two of the four bodies redeemed from Hamas captivity as those of Ariel and Kfir, who were “brutally murdered” by terrorists in November 2023. Ariel was four years old, and Kfir was only ten months old.

The IDF condemned Hamas’s actions, calling them a “violation of utmost severity.” Under the terms of the hostage agreement, Hamas was obligated to return four deceased hostages, including Shiri Bibas. “We demand that Hamas return Shiri home along with all our hostages,” the IDF stated.

Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon expressed outrage, describing the situation as “an atrocity.” He criticized Hamas for treating the body as a “worthless shipment,” adding, “This is a new low, an evil and cruelty with no parallel.” Danon urged the U.N. to take a firm stance against Hamas’s actions, warning that history would judge those who remain silent.

U.S. Congressman Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) echoed these sentiments, calling for the immediate return of Shiri Bibas. “Hamas must return Shiri Bibas immediately or face severe consequences,” he stated.

Jewish Federations of North America issued a strong rebuke, condemning Hamas’s “cruel and deceitful psychological warfare” against the Bibas family, Israel, and the Jewish people. The organization highlighted the terrorists’ brutal murder of the young boys and the deception surrounding Shiri’s body. “In case it was not yet clear to anyone, Hamas cannot be allowed to remain in power,” the Federation declared.

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) also weighed in, condemning Hamas’s actions as “unfathomable evil.”

This latest act by Hamas not only deepens the grief of the Bibas family but also raises serious concerns about the terror group’s continued disregard for international agreements and human decency. As Israel and its allies respond to this grave violation, the international community faces increasing pressure to hold Hamas accountable.
