Herzog, U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz Discuss Gaza Ceasefire Implementation and ISF Deployment
President Herzog praises U.S. clarity as Waltz underscores international push to stabilize post-war Gaza.

President Isaac Herzog hosted U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz in Jerusalem on Wednesday to discuss the implementation of the U.S.-backed Israel-Gaza ceasefire deal and the deployment of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) in Gaza.
Israel’s UN Ambassador Danny Danon also participated in the meeting at the President’s Residence.
“I want to thank you for supporting Israel with clear moral clarity,” Herzog told Waltz, emphasizing the need for the international community to understand “the strategic importance of Israel” amid regional instability.
Herzog underscored urgency in deploying the ISF and rebuilding Gaza under the terms of the recent UN Security Council resolution, warning that “rogue elements don't rest for a moment,” referencing Iran and its regional proxies.
Waltz praised the resolution as “probably the most positive for Israel” and confirmed that the U.S. is moving forward with the next steps, including the creation of a Gaza Board of Peace, an initiative expected to be formally announced by President Donald Trump in the coming days.
Waltz said the board will oversee:
A technocratic Palestinian authority tasked with restoring essential services in Gaza.
A funding mechanism to finance the reconstruction process.
Coordination of the international stabilization force aimed at demilitarizing the Strip.
He reaffirmed U.S. policy that Hamas must be removed from Gaza. “President Trump has been clear that it's going to happen the easy way or the hard way, but there will not be any more Hamas,” Waltz declared.
The visit follows Waltz’s regional tour focused on security coordination and humanitarian planning, and comes as the ceasefire agreement enters its more complex second phase. Share this article or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
