Noa Argamani and Almog Meir Jan Discharged from Hospital After Rescue

Celebrating Their Return Home During Shavuot

Two days after her dramatic rescue from Gaza, Noa Argamani has been discharged from Tel Aviv's Ichilov Medical Center. Following a series of medical and psychosocial evaluations, Argamani is now set to spend the Shavuot holiday near her still-hospitalized mother, Liora.

Similarly, Almog Meir Jan was released from Sheba Medical Center on Monday night, marking the return home of all hostages hospitalized after the rescue operation. The 21-year-old from Or Yehuda had been kidnapped from a nature party in Re’im. Jan, a recently discharged soldier, was supposed to start a job at a major telecommunications company the day after the party. That fateful morning, he managed to call his mother, Orit, to tell her he loved her amidst the chaos of rockets and gunfire before the connection was lost.

Jan, Argamani, Shlomi Ziv, and Andrey Kozlov were rescued from a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in a daring daytime operation by the Yamam, the IDF, and the Shin Bet. The successful mission, which followed weeks of meticulous intelligence gathering and planning, tragically cost the life of Yamam fighter Chief Superintendent Arnon Zmora.

Orit Jan spoke to the media about her son's mental state upon his return. "Almog was in captivity for eight months. That's a long time," she said. "He experienced various things, but what I can say is that his connection with the other hostages greatly helped strengthen their spirit, hope, and faith. The bond they formed strengthened them. They did not lose hope until they were rescued. They always felt that this day would come when they would return home. Almog is strong; he has a long way to go, it's not simple."

Reflecting on Almog's resilience, Orit added, "He feels good, healthy, and I am sure he has a way to go but is starting from a good place." She emphasized the urgency of bringing all hostages home, whether for burial or rehabilitation. Almog, who learned Arabic and Russian during his captivity, had formed a close bond with fellow hostage Andrey Kozlov.

Meanwhile, Noa Argamani met with Ditza Or, the mother of her boyfriend Avinatan Or, who was kidnapped along with her and separated during the ordeal. In a widely circulated kidnapping video, Argamani is seen screaming while a terrorist kidnaps her on a motorcycle, with other terrorists holding Avinatan, who tries to calm her.

As Israel celebrates Shavuot, the release of Argamani and Jan brings a moment of joy and relief amidst ongoing challenges. The strength and hope displayed by these individuals are a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
