List of 33 Hostages Set for Release in First Phase of Agreement Revealed
Thirty-three individuals set for release under the Sunday deal pending Cabinet approval.
The list of 33 hostages scheduled to be released in the first phase of the Israel-Hamas hostage deal was made public on Friday. These individuals, including children, elderly civilians, and other abductees, are expected to return home as part of the agreement. Pending Security Cabinet and government approval, the release process is set to begin on Sunday.
The hostages set for release include: Liri Albag, Itzhak Elgarat, Karina Ariev, Ohad Ben Ami, Ariel Bibas, Yarden Bibas, Kfir Bibas, Shiri Bibas, Agam Berger, Gonen Romi, Daniella Gilboa, Emily Damari, Sagui Dekel Chen, Iair Horn, Omer Wenkert, Alexandre Sasha Troufanov, Arbel Yehoud, Ohad Yahalomi, Eliya Cohen, Or Levy, Naama Levy, Oded Lifshitz, Gadi Moshe Mozes, Avraham (Avera) Mengisto, Shlomo Mantzur, Keith Samuel Sigal, Tsachi Idan, Ofer Kalderon, Tal Shoham, Doron Steinbrecher, Omer Shem Tov, Hisham Al-Sayed, and Eli Sharabi.
The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that the release process would commence only after government approval of the deal. In a statement, the office emphasized: “Pending approval by the Security Cabinet and the Government, and the agreement taking effect, the release of the hostages will be implemented according to the planned framework in which the hostages are expected to be released on Sunday.”
Efforts are being made to expedite the legal process for any High Court appeals regarding the release of Palestinian prisoners, who will be freed under the terms of the agreement. Appeals are limited to weekdays, creating additional urgency as the deal progresses.
Each phase of the hostage release will adhere to strict protocols. Only after hostages are safely in Israeli hands and their families notified will an official announcement be made with the names of those released.
The agreement was finalized in Doha in the early hours of Friday, marking a critical step in the ongoing effort to bring Israeli hostages home while navigating the complexities of a fraught ceasefire deal.
