Missiles from Yemen Trigger Nationwide Alerts as IDF Intercepts Threats
Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists fire missiles toward Israel, sparking panic across central cities.

Air-raid sirens echoed through Israel on Thursday as millions of citizens rushed to shelters following a missile attack launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist group in Yemen. The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that two long-range missiles were intercepted before crossing into Israeli territory, triggering widespread alerts across the country.
“Following alerts that were activated a short time ago in several areas of the country, two missiles launched from Yemen were intercepted,” the IDF stated. Sirens blared from Kfar Saba in the north, just outside Tel Aviv, to Hebron in the southern Judean hills. Alarms also sounded in Jerusalem, raising concern in the nation’s capital.
While there were no direct casualties, Magen David Adom emergency services reported several individuals treated for anxiety and minor injuries incurred while seeking shelter.
Fragments of the intercepted missiles were discovered in Mevo Horon, a community in Western Samaria adjacent to Modi’in, a city home to around 100,000 residents. The attack marked the second missile launch from Yemen in a single week, adding to growing concerns over a broader regional escalation.
On Monday night, another missile was intercepted over Jerusalem, with debris landing in nearby Beit Shemesh. Sunday morning saw yet another attempted strike, which also triggered alerts in Tel Aviv. All missiles were successfully neutralized by Israel’s multi-layered defense systems.
Since the Hamas-led massacre on October 7, 2023, in which 1,200 Israelis were murdered, the Houthi terrorists in Yemen have launched more than 350 missiles and drones at Israel. These attacks, executed in solidarity with Hamas, come in addition to the group’s ongoing campaign against global maritime routes in the Red Sea.
The Houthi movement, designated as a terrorist organization by multiple countries including the United States and Israel, resumed missile attacks on March 18 the first since a temporary truce went into effect in mid-January.
Israel continues to face threats from multiple fronts, yet its defense forces remain steadfast. Thursday’s rapid interception of the missiles is a testament to the country’s unwavering preparedness.
