Huckabee Announces Major Expansion of US Aid Operations in Gaza
New plan to increase aid points from 4 to 16 as US, Israel, and allies step up humanitarian efforts.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee announced Thursday that the United States will significantly expand its humanitarian aid distribution operations in the Gaza Strip, unveiling plans to increase the number of aid centers from four to sixteen.
The initiative, which the US will fully finance, aims to boost the accessibility and flow of essential food and medical supplies to Gazan civilians. The move is part of a growing international effort to address humanitarian needs while ensuring aid bypasses Hamas control and reaches those in need.
“The administration intends to significantly ramp up the amount of humanitarian aid being distributed,” a source familiar with the talks told The Jerusalem Post, signaling a broader policy shift underpinned by cooperation with Israel and regional allies.
The announcement comes as Israel also revealed plans to escalate its aid response, either by funding the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) or partnering with other foreign donors. Recent efforts have included coordinated aid drops with countries such as France, Germany, Spain, and the UAE.
“In accordance with the directives from the political echelon, and as part of the cooperation between Israel, the UAE, Jordan, Germany, Belgium, and France, the IDF, led by COGAT, is continuing the series of actions aimed at improving the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip,” the IDF Spokesperson Unit said Wednesday.
Just hours before Huckabee’s announcement, 107 packages of food were dropped into Gaza by five different countries. These followed last week’s first major airdrop operation, where 126 pallets of food and medical supplies were delivered with the coordination of France, Germany, and Spain.
Huckabee’s plan to quadruple the number of distribution points marks a serious escalation in American commitment to the region’s humanitarian needs, reflecting growing international concern over civilian suffering in Gaza and the need to bypass terror group interference.
This expansion comes at a critical moment. While Hamas continues to hold hostages and reject ceasefire deals, Israel and its allies are making clear that they can provide for the people of Gaza without legitimizing or empowering terror organizations.
With the combined efforts of Israel, the US, and its international partners, humanitarian aid can be delivered safely, strategically, and in a way that upholds both compassion and security.
