Huckabee Declares Israel America’s True and Unparalleled Partner

Turkey’s expanding partnerships across the Middle East signal a strategic shift that could reshape regional power balances.

At a time of regional turmoil and rising global antisemitism, a powerful message echoed through the Knesset the bond between the United States and Israel is not merely diplomatic it is strategic, historic, and deeply rooted in shared values.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee joined senior Israeli lawmakers for a special session of the Knesset Caucus for Israel–U.S. Relations, declaring unequivocally that Israel is America’s “true and unparalleled partner.”

“There are many countries with which we have alliances,” Huckabee said. “But there is only one country in the world with which we have a true and unparalleled partnership, and that is Israel.”

The session, initiated by the Ruderman Family Foundation and chaired by MK Ohad Tal, marked the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. It brought together coalition and opposition lawmakers in a rare bipartisan display of unity around the strategic importance of the US–Israel alliance.

Huckabee directly addressed critics who claim American support for Israel is one-sided. Framing the relationship in practical terms, he emphasized that US assistance represents only a fraction of America’s massive federal budget and that much of it flows back into the American economy through joint defense development and industrial cooperation.

“For a $7 trillion-a-year budget, the support that goes to Israel is a tiny blip,” he said. “When Israel fights, America wins.”

His remarks came as Israel continues to face threats from Iran and its proxies. Huckabee warned that many Americans underestimate the Iranian threat because of geographic distance.

“For over 47 years, Iran has brought death to Americans,” he said, arguing that Tehran’s ambitions extend far beyond the Middle East. “The freedom you enjoy here, which is threatened daily by enemies like Iran, is also a threat to the United States.”

Israeli leaders reinforced the ambassador’s message.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar stressed that the US–Israel relationship transcends any single administration. It is anchored in shared democratic values and common security interests that have endured for decades.

“Just as we have no better friend and ally around the globe than the U.S., the U.S. doesn’t have a better, stronger and more loyal ally here in this region and probably beyond,” Sa’ar said.

Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana highlighted the institutional dimension of the alliance, noting that legislative cooperation between the two democracies reflects deeper alignment on sovereignty, rule of law, and freedom.

MK Ohad Tal framed the partnership not as aid, but as strategic investment.

“Israel is America’s greatest strategic investment,” he said, arguing that the relationship should evolve from a model of assistance to one of full partnership. Unlike many US allies, Israel does not require American boots on the ground, he noted. Instead, the two nations collaborate on technology, intelligence, and defense capabilities that benefit both sides.

The session also addressed what Shira Ruderman, CEO of the Ruderman Family Foundation, described as the “triangle” linking Israel, the United States, and the American Jewish community.

She emphasized that the alliance is sustained not only by governments but by people particularly American Jews, who serve as a living bridge between the two democracies.

The emotional dimension of that bridge was underscored by Orna and Ronen Neutra, parents of fallen lone soldier Omer Neutra. Speaking in Hebrew, they described their son as a living symbol of the bond between Israel and America a young man who chose to serve out of responsibility and shared destiny.

They warned that declining support for Israel among younger Americans poses not only a public-relations challenge, but a strategic one.

“If the younger generation there does not feel part of our story, it will not only be a propaganda problem but a strategic challenge,” they said.

Throughout the gathering, speakers stressed that the US–Israel alliance is not a temporary alignment of convenience. It is an enduring partnership shaped by common ideals, democratic identity, and shared security concerns.

Two hundred and fifty years after America declared independence, and nearly eight decades since Israel restored Jewish sovereignty in its ancestral homeland, the connection between the two nations remains strong.

In a world marked by uncertainty, the US–Israel alliance stands as a pillar of stability, innovation, and freedom.
