IDF Detains Suspects in Southern Syria, Neutralizes Threats to Golan Heights
Operations near Israel’s border dismantle threats and foil terror plots against civilians.

In a series of bold and carefully executed operations, the IDF’s 210th Division has arrested multiple terror suspects in southern Syria, aiming to neutralize growing threats against Israeli communities in the Golan Heights. The military confirmed the arrests on Sunday, highlighting the Alexandroni Brigade's key role in the mission.
The division’s activity was part of a broader security effort to protect northern Israel from cross-border terror. The suspects apprehended through a nighttime raid were reportedly involved in plotting attacks on Israeli civilians and soldiers. Intelligence gathered in recent weeks helped guide the IDF to their exact locations.
In addition to the arrests, IDF forces conducted several raids on weapons depots across southern Syria, seizing caches of rocket shells, landmines, and combat gear. The suspects have been transferred for further interrogation, signaling an ongoing effort to dismantle terror infrastructure before it crosses the border.
The 210th Division, which operates from Mount Hermon to the “border triangle” where Israel, Syria, and Jordan meet, has been especially active this month. Earlier in June, the same Alexandroni Brigade disrupted Hamas operatives in Beit Jinn, Syria individuals who were advancing terror plots using the country as a staging ground.
Beyond its military activities, the division has also offered humanitarian aid. In recent weeks, IDF medics treated over 500 wounded Syrian civilians near the village of Hader, reflecting Israel’s long-standing commitment to extending humanitarian care, even to those beyond its borders.
This operation comes on the heels of an April raid by the division’s paratroopers on a Syrian military outpost. That mission successfully dismantled outdated but potentially dangerous tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery left from the Assad regime.
Israel continues to make it clear: threats from across the Syrian border will not be tolerated. The recent wave of arrests and arms seizures is a powerful reminder that the IDF remains vigilant, capable, and deeply committed to the safety of the Golan’s residents.
