IDF Captures Hezbollah Commander and Three Radwan Force Terrorists in Southern Lebanon

Israeli troops dismantle Hezbollah tunnel network used for planned attacks on Israel's Galilee.

Israeli forces arrested a Hezbollah Radwan Force commander and three additional terrorists during an operation in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to a Wednesday report by KAN News. The arrests took place after hours of negotiations, with the terrorists ultimately surrendering as the IDF prepared to storm the tunnel in which they were hiding.

The captured commander, Wadah Kamal Yunis, revealed critical information during his interrogation. Yunis explained that many Hezbollah members, including local commanders, fled following the killing of the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah. He described the Radwan Force as composed of “unbelievers, people without religion” who were motivated by money and quickly retreated in fear of the IDF.

Yunis also disclosed Hezbollah’s previous plans to retaliate against Israel and advance into the Galilee region, a strategy that collapsed after Nasrallah’s death. This revelation underscores the disarray within Hezbollah's ranks in the face of Israeli military pressure.

During the operation, the IDF uncovered a sophisticated underground complex beneath civilian homes in a southern Lebanese village. The complex, used by Hezbollah’s Radwan Force, included lodging areas, storage facilities, and a large cache of weapons. The infrastructure was intended for use in the event of an operation aimed at the "conquest of the Galilee." Task Force 8 and the Yahalom Unit destroyed the complex on Wednesday morning.

IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Major General Amir Baram toured the site before its destruction. He commended the troops for dismantling Hezbollah’s operational plans, stating, "For years, Division 91 and the Northern Command have prepared for defense and containment against what Hezbollah called the 'conquest of the Galilee.' It’s powerful and pride-inducing that we are now fighting in the very area from which they planned to attack us destroying their infrastructure and plans."

This operation marks the latest in a series of successful IDF missions targeting Hezbollah’s tunnel networks. Earlier this week, Battalion 13 of the Golani Brigade uncovered another Hezbollah tunnel, capturing three terrorists hiding inside with supplies for extended stays. These terrorists, along with others captured in previous operations, have provided valuable intelligence during interrogations.

The IDF’s ongoing efforts to eliminate Hezbollah’s underground infrastructure and capture key operatives reflect Israel’s determination to neutralize threats from its northern border. As Israeli forces continue to dismantle Hezbollah’s tunnel networks and military facilities, they are striking at the heart of the terror group’s plans to attack Israeli civilians and territory.
