IDF Destroys Explosives Lab Hidden Beneath Mosque in Jenin Operation
Israeli forces target key Hamas leader and dismantle terrorist infrastructure.
In a major counterterrorism operation, Israeli forces have destroyed an explosives lab hidden under a mosque in Jenin, along with other key terror sites, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported on Friday. The joint effort, involving the IDF, Shin Bet, and Border Police, also led to the elimination of Wassem Hazem, a senior Hamas leader responsible for orchestrating numerous attacks in the West Bank.
The operation, which has unfolded over the past week and a half, resulted in the deaths of 14 terrorists and the capture of over 30 suspects. Additionally, the IDF dismantled around 30 explosives that had been planted along roadways, thwarting potential attacks on Israeli soldiers and civilians.
Among the destroyed terror infrastructure were a weapons depot and an explosives manufacturing lab, cleverly concealed beneath a mosque. Israeli forces also confiscated a large cache of weapons during the raids. These actions represent a significant blow to Hamas and other militant factions operating in Jenin, where terrorist activity has surged in recent months.
The IDF emphasized that the operation in Jenin is far from over, with more efforts planned to dismantle terrorist networks and secure the region.
This latest mission highlights the ongoing challenges Israel faces in combatting terrorism while ensuring the safety of its citizens. As the IDF continues its operations, Israel remains steadfast in its commitment to rooting out terrorism.
