Israeli Air Force Eliminates Last Houthi Aircraft at Sana’a Airport
Defense Minister vows continued retaliation after Iranian-backed terrorists target Israel with ballistic missiles and drone attacks.

In a powerful response to continued aggression, the Israeli Air Force struck Sana’a International Airport in Yemen on Wednesday, destroying the last remaining operational aircraft used by the Iran-backed Houthi terror organization. The targeted strike marks a significant milestone in Israel’s ongoing campaign to neutralize regional threats before they reach its borders.
Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed the operation, issuing a direct warning: “Whoever fires at the State of Israel will pay a heavy price.” The strike follows a similar operation on May 6, which destroyed multiple Houthi aircraft at the same site.
“The ports in Yemen will continue to be struck heavily, and the airport in Sana’a will be destroyed again and again,” Katz declared. “Whoever harms us will be harmed sevenfold.”
The Israeli military emphasized the strategic importance of this latest operation, noting that the aircraft destroyed were being used to transport terrorists planning attacks on Israel. “This is another example of the brutal use that the Houthi terrorist organization makes of civilian infrastructure for terrorist acts,” the IDF stated. The airport, along with the ports of Hodeidah and al-Salif, remains under full Houthi control and is routinely used for terror operations.
The strike comes amid escalating Houthi aggression. On Tuesday, the IDF intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen, which triggered air-raid sirens across the Jordan Valley and Samaria. While no casualties were reported, the attack forced residents into bomb shelters in the early morning hours. Later that day, the Israeli Air Force downed another missile this time without sirens, as per standard policy.
These threats are not isolated. Just weeks earlier, a missile launched by Houthi forces struck near Ben-Gurion International Airport, raising the stakes and urgency of Israel’s defensive operations.
Israel’s policy is clear: any attack on its citizens or sovereignty will be met with overwhelming force. The latest strike on Sana’a Airport sends a resolute message to Iran’s proxies in the region distance does not equal immunity, and the Jewish state will protect itself from any threat, wherever it may originate.
