Israeli Drone Eliminates Iranian F-14s on Tehran Airbase

In another successful precision strike under Operation "Rising Lion," the IDF announced Monday evening that an Israeli drone destroyed two Iranian F-14 fighter jets on a Tehran airbase just moments before they were set to take off.

The two American-made F-14s, originally supplied to Iran during the reign of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, were among the last of Iran's aging fleet of combat-ready aircraft. Their destruction further weakens Iran’s limited air capabilities as Israel systematically dismantles the regime’s military infrastructure.

In addition to the strike on the Tehran airbase, the Israeli Air Force thwarted a separate Iranian attempt to launch drones toward Israeli territory. According to the IDF, Air Force aircraft had been tracking the Iranian drone launch team for several days. The launchers and weaponry were identified, and the launch team was eliminated minutes before they could activate their drones.

“The Iranian team, their launchers, and the weapons systems were all destroyed before any threat could be launched at Israeli civilians,” the IDF reported.

The elimination of both the F-14 fighter jets and the drone attack team marks another step in Israel’s comprehensive campaign to cripple Iran’s offensive capabilities. With Iran’s aerial defenses already severely degraded, Israel’s control over Iranian airspace continues to expand, allowing its forces to operate with growing dominance.

Since the launch of Operation Rising Lion, Israel has destroyed a vast portion of Iran’s nuclear program, eliminated senior members of Iran’s military leadership, and now significantly weakened its limited aerial strike capacity. This latest success demonstrates the effectiveness of Israel’s intelligence-driven, precision-targeted strikes in neutralizing Iran’s ability to escalate hostilities further.

As Iran continues to retaliate with missile and drone attacks on Israeli cities, Israel remains firmly committed to defending its civilians while systematically degrading the regime’s military threat at its source.
