IDF Dismantles Major Explosives Lab in Tulkarm

Israeli forces uncovered and destroyed a large explosives laboratory in the West Bank city of Tulkarm during a series of overnight counterterrorism raids, the IDF announced Wednesday. The operation, led by IDF soldiers with support from the Shin Bet, marks a significant blow to terror networks operating within Judea and Samaria.

The lab reportedly contained over 200 ready-to-use explosive devices and approximately 150 kilograms of raw materials used for bomb-making. IDF engineers dismantled and neutralized the facility, preventing what could have been numerous future attacks on Israeli civilians and security forces.

“This operation eliminated a major threat to our forces and to innocent lives,” said a senior IDF spokesperson. “These materials were prepared to kill.”

In a separate sweep in the village of Beita, IDF forces arrested three suspects over several nights, including one individual believed to have planted an explosive device that recently injured a reservist from the 9221st Battalion.

The raids are part of a broader IDF effort to curb rising terrorist activity in the West Bank. On Tuesday night alone, Israeli forces apprehended 18 wanted individuals across multiple locations. A rifle and other illegal weapons were also confiscated during the operations.

Later Wednesday morning, Border Guard personnel arrested another suspect in the Askar refugee camp near Nablus. The detainee, linked to previous attacks against Israeli forces, is now being interrogated.

The discovery of the Tulkarm explosives lab underscores the scale and sophistication of terror operations in the region and the urgency of continued Israeli efforts to root out threats before they materialize.
