Israeli Forces Intercept Several Drones Launched from Yemen
Israeli Air Force thwarts aerial threats near Gaza border without casualties or alarms.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Thursday that the Israeli Air Force (IAF) successfully intercepted multiple drones launched from Yemen, neutralizing the aerial threats without any reported injuries or damage.
The first drone was intercepted near Bnei Netzarim and Naveh, communities close to the Gaza border. Shortly afterward, a second drone originating from Yemen was shot down outside of Israel’s borders, according to the IAF.
No sirens were sounded, in line with the military’s policy when threats are deemed to pose no imminent danger to populated areas.
While no group has officially claimed responsibility, the attacks fit the pattern of Houthi aggression the Iran-backed militant group in Yemen which has increasingly attempted to target Israeli territory with drones and long-range missiles since the October 7 Hamas assault.
Israel’s southern air defense systems remain on high alert amid the ongoing regional conflict, with the IDF tracking launches from multiple fronts, including Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. These repeated attacks underscore the widening scope of threats Israel faces, not only from Hamas and Hezbollah but from Tehran’s entire terror proxy network.
Despite this, Israel’s multi-layered air defense systems including Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and long-range interceptors continue to demonstrate exceptional precision and resilience.
The successful interceptions offer yet another example of Israel’s ability to defend its skies even as it battles Hamas in Gaza and maintains deterrence on its northern and southern fronts.
