IDF Discovers Massive Weapons Cache in Hezbollah Radwan Forces’ Underground Bases

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have carried out a series of successful raids on underground bases belonging to Hezbollah's elite Radwan Forces, the military announced on Thursday. The targeted raids were part of a broader effort to dismantle Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon, as tensions along Israel’s northern border continue to escalate.

Troops from the IDF’s 646th Brigade conducted what the military described as "limited, localized, targeted ground raids," clearing several underground bases of terrorists and dismantling key components of Hezbollah’s military apparatus. These bases were designed for Hezbollah’s “Conquer the Galilee” plan, a strategy aimed at infiltrating northern Israel during a future conflict.

Inside the bases, IDF soldiers uncovered extensive infrastructure meant for long-term use by Hezbollah operatives, including bunk beds, food supplies, and storage cabinets. The raids revealed not just living quarters, but also a significant cache of weapons and equipment. Among the discoveries were four weapons storage facilities, some hidden within civilian homes, a known tactic of Hezbollah to use civilian areas as shields.

The seized weapons cache included a large assortment of arms: AK-47 rifles, rockets, mortars, RPGs, shoulder-fired missiles, and advanced anti-tank missiles. These weapons, which were intended for use by Hezbollah’s Radwan Forces, have been confiscated by the IDF, marking a significant blow to the terror group’s operational capabilities.

The Radwan Forces, an elite unit of Hezbollah, have been a focal point in the ongoing conflict with Israel. The IDF’s targeted strikes against these underground bases further degrade Hezbollah's ability to launch future attacks against Israeli territory.

As tensions remain high on Israel's northern front, the IDF continues its proactive efforts to neutralize Hezbollah's threat and ensure the safety of Israeli civilians.
