IDF Strikes Hamas Operatives in Doha, Qatar

Senior terror commanders behind October 7 massacre targeted in bold Israeli operation in Doha.

In a daring and unprecedented move, the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet launched a precision strike in Doha, Qatar, targeting top Hamas leaders responsible for orchestrating the October 7 massacre and ongoing attacks against Israel. The operation, conducted Tuesday, marked a major escalation in Israel’s campaign to dismantle the terror group’s leadership infrastructure, wherever it resides.

“Today’s action against the top terrorist chieftains of Hamas was a wholly independent Israeli operation,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stated. “Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility.”

Among those reportedly killed was Khalil al-Hayya, a senior Hamas negotiator and operative, according to Saudi media. Multiple explosions rocked the area near Hamas’s headquarters in Doha, where members of the group’s political bureau had gathered to discuss a U.S.-backed hostage and ceasefire deal.

The IDF emphasized that the strike was executed with precision to minimize civilian harm. This follows Israel’s stated objective: to eliminate Hamas’s leadership while preserving innocent life.

This strike, part of what is being called Operation Judgement Gathering, reflects Israel’s resolve to hold Hamas accountable well beyond the borders of Gaza. It sends a strong message that no Hamas leader involved in orchestrating terror against Israel will find safe haven—even in places once considered off-limits.

According to Israeli officials, this operation had the full backing of the Trump administration. Minister for Diaspora Affairs Amichai Chikli was blunt: “The terror architects of the horrific massacre of innocents on October 7th… are finally meeting justice.”

Qatar, which has long hosted Hamas leaders and served as a mediator in hostage negotiations, strongly condemned the strike. Its foreign ministry accused Israel of violating international law and endangering civilians. But Israeli leaders dismissed these criticisms, pointing instead to Qatar’s role in providing sanctuary for terrorists.

Yitzhak Wasserlauf, Israel’s minister for the development of the periphery, said, “The Jewish people do not forget, and our foes are not protected anywhere and at any time.” He reiterated that the next step remains clear a planned operation to retake Gaza City and secure the release of the remaining hostages.

This bold move against Hamas’s overseas command structure comes amid intense negotiations over a potential ceasefire and hostage release. The strike not only disrupts Hamas’s political leadership but also signals Israel’s broader strategic intent to apply relentless pressure on every front until the terror group is dismantled.
