IDF Confirms 100 UN Aid Trucks Entered Gaza via Kerem Shalom

Israel enables humanitarian flow while ensuring aid doesn’t empower Hamas terrorists.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday that 100 trucks carrying humanitarian aid organized by the United Nations and international partners have entered the Gaza Strip through the Kerem Shalom crossing. The shipment included flour, baby food, and critical medical supplies.

Each truckload underwent a thorough security screening by the Defense Ministry’s Crossing Points Authority before being permitted entry, ensuring that none of the assistance could be diverted to Hamas or other terror groups operating within the enclave.

The aid transfer comes as part of Israel’s recent decision to reopen the Kerem Shalom crossing after an 11-week blockade, aiming to balance humanitarian obligations with stringent security protocols. The IDF emphasized that while facilitating assistance, it remains vigilant in preventing misuse of resources intended for civilians.

Despite this large-scale delivery, UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric reported that no aid had yet been distributed inside Gaza as of Wednesday. He cited concerns over security and looting in areas deemed unsafe by the UN, explaining that Israeli authorities had only approved access to zones where distribution could not be safely guaranteed.

This situation underscores the complexity of aid logistics in a war zone dominated by a terror organization that routinely exploits humanitarian resources. Israel’s approach reflects a firm commitment to humanitarian values ensuring food and medicine reach those in need while steadfastly denying material support to its enemies.

By continuing to screen and coordinate humanitarian deliveries under strict supervision, Israel demonstrates its dual mission: defending its citizens and upholding its responsibilities as a democratic nation even in the face of war.
