IDF Finds Rocket Amid Rising Iran-Backed Terror Threat in West Bank
Security officials warn Tehran is directing efforts to build rocket-launching capabilities in Judea and Samaria.

The IDF uncovered a rocket in Tulkarm on Tuesday evening, intensifying concerns that Iran is working to establish rocket fire from the West Bank. Border Police sappers neutralized the device, while IDF troops conducted sweeps in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
This marks the second such discovery in recent weeks, with both incidents reportedly occurring “under Iranian direction,” according to security assessments.
Just a week earlier, terrorists launched a rocket from the village of Na’ama, near Ramallah. A subsequent joint IDF and Shin Bet operation uncovered a building filled with dozens of rockets in various stages of preparation, alongside the three terrorists responsible for the launch attempt.
Defense officials described the cache as “a game-changing weapon” and assessed that foreign elements, led by Iran, are working to promote a plan for rocket fire from the West Bank.
During the Na’ama raid, special forces from the IDF, Shin Bet, and the Yamam Counterterrorism Unit surrounded the building. After exchanging fire, the suspects surrendered and were taken into custody.
Security officials now believe that terror groups in Judea and Samaria are attempting to manufacture and deploy rockets that could threaten cities deep inside Israel, including Kfar Saba, Ra’anana, Netanya, Afula, Hadera, and Beit She’an.
In recent months, Iran has also been supplying factions in Jenin and Tulkarm with mortars and munitions, while helping them move toward local rocket production. The IDF and Shin Bet said their recent large-scale operation successfully disrupted part of this infrastructure, but efforts to expand rocket capabilities in the West Bank remain a pressing concern.
The discovery underscores the growing scope of the Iranian threat not only through Hamas and Hezbollah, but now in attempts to turn the West Bank into a new front against Israel.
