Iran Accuses Israel of Orchestrating Attacks as Executions Hit Record High

While blaming Jews for terror abroad, Tehran escalates repression at home and faces international legal action for crimes against humanity.

As the Islamic regime in Tehran intensifies its crackdown at home and faces mounting global pressure, Iran’s top military leadership has launched yet another wave of antisemitic conspiracy theories this time accusing Israel of orchestrating false-flag terror attacks against Jews abroad to evoke sympathy.

In a speech to Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commanders, Iranian military chief Maj. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi outrageously claimed that the recent deadly massacre at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, which killed 15 people during a Hanukkah celebration, was staged by “the Zionist regime.” His comments mirror narratives spread by Iranian state media, which have portrayed the attack as an Israeli plot to manipulate global opinion and “prevent reverse migration.”

Despite such unfounded accusations, security agencies in Australia and Israel are reportedly investigating whether Iran itself played a role in the attack consistent with a long pattern of Iranian-backed terrorism abroad.

Iran’s denial of antisemitic motives in the attack, coupled with its praise for the massacre in domestic media, speaks volumes. While the regime officially issued a vague condemnation of “violence,” it carefully avoided mentioning the Jewish community or antisemitism. State outlets like Mehr News went even further, naming Israel as the “main suspect” and framing the murdered rabbi, Eli Schlanger, as a “supporter of genocide.”

This inflammatory rhetoric comes amid a sharp rise in Iranian plots targeting Jews and Israelis globally. Earlier this year, Britain, the U.S., France, and other Western allies issued a joint statement warning that Tehran was intensifying assassination and kidnapping attempts on foreign soil particularly against Jewish communities.

But the Islamic Republic’s brutality is not limited to its foreign operations. Domestically, the regime is carrying out executions at a pace unseen in modern times. According to Iran Human Rights Monitor, at least 1,791 people have been executed in 2025 alone nearly double the total from the previous year. Many of the condemned were accused of collaborating with Israeli intelligence or participating in resistance efforts.

Among the victims were at least 61 women, reflecting the regime’s ongoing war against dissent especially from those demanding gender equality. The executions are part of a broader climate of fear, where capital punishment is used not as justice, but as an ideological weapon to silence opposition.

Now, for the first time, survivors of the 2022 Woman, Life, Freedom protests are taking legal action abroad. In a landmark case filed in Argentina, victims and human rights groups have accused 40 senior Iranian officials of crimes against humanity. The charges include murder, gender persecution, torture, and the targeted blinding of protesters.

One of the plaintiffs, Mahsa Piraei, lost her mother, Minoo Majidi, after she was shot at point-blank range by regime forces. “We could not find justice in our own country,” she said. “But our perseverance is a global cause that knows no borders.”

Iran’s escalating repression and its campaign of disinformation are not just an internal crisis they are a global threat. As the regime promotes hatred abroad and executes its citizens at home, it continues to show its true face: one of terror, brutality, and deep-seated antisemitism.
