Deadly Iranian Missile Strikes Kill 8, Injure Hundreds in Israel

Israeli leaders vow to eliminate both the nuclear and missile threats as Iranian attacks escalate.

In one of the deadliest barrages since the start of Iran's direct confrontation with Israel, eight Israelis were killed and nearly 300 others injured in a massive Iranian ballistic missile attack early Monday. The strikes targeted densely populated civilian areas across central and northern Israel, leaving destruction and heartbreak in their wake.

The impacts were concentrated in four locations. In the greater Tel Aviv area, four people were killed in Petach Tikvah and one in Bnei Brak. In Haifa, three people who were initially reported trapped were later confirmed dead. A 30-year-old woman remains hospitalized in serious condition.

The IDF’s Home Front Command is investigating the circumstances of the deaths, including three victims a man and two women in their 70s who were killed in Petach Tikvah while sheltering in a protected space. An 80-year-old man was found dead at the site of the missile strike in Bnei Brak.

Emergency teams worked throughout the night to evacuate the wounded and search for additional victims. Magen David Adom reported that 87 people were transported to hospitals, with five in moderate condition and dozens more suffering from mild injuries or shock. The Israeli Health Ministry confirmed a total of 287 people were treated overnight for various injuries and trauma.

Adding to the severity of the attack, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee confirmed that a nearby missile strike damaged the U.S. Embassy Branch Office in Tel Aviv. Israel’s Channel 12 News also reported that the home of MK Hanoch Milwidsky (Likud) in Petach Tikvah was struck and damaged.

This latest strike follows a series of increasingly deadly Iranian attacks, with 13 people killed in an earlier missile barrage over the weekend. Iran’s ongoing assaults have turned Israeli civilian centers into front-line targets in what has become an existential fight for Israel’s survival.

“Israel is in an existential war. Since 1948, I can’t recall a war as vital, important and crucial as the one we are facing now,” stated Likud MK Boaz Bismuth. He stressed that Israel’s mission is clear: to eliminate Iran’s nuclear and missile threats once and for all. “Sooner or later, those conventional missiles that strike us today could be nuclear tomorrow,” he warned.

Bismuth called on free nations and supporters of Israel to stand firm, emphasizing that this battle goes beyond Israel’s borders. “This is a fight for stability, security, and the future of coming generations,” he said.

Likud MK Dan Illouz reinforced the urgency of Israel’s dual mission. “We cannot wait for them to push the button before we respond,” he said, referring to Iran’s growing nuclear and missile capabilities. Illouz also highlighted a potential long-term opportunity for the Iranian people themselves, whose rich history has been hijacked by a radical regime. “Iran used to be one of Israel’s allies, and this can become a reality again,” he noted.

As the IDF continues its widespread Operation "Rising Lion," which has already targeted and destroyed large portions of Iran’s nuclear and military infrastructure, Israeli leaders remain united and resolute. The Israeli people, enduring repeated air raid sirens, destroyed homes, and tragic loss of life, stand strong with their armed forces in confronting this existential threat.

“This is a threat we must confront and overcome,” Bismuth declared. “For me, the people of the year are the Israeli people.”
