Israel Rushed Aid to South Sudan Amid Cholera Crisis
Mashav and IsraAid to deliver medical and food supplies as crisis worsens.

Israel will dispatch emergency humanitarian aid to South Sudan, where a worsening cholera outbreak and severe shortages of basic resources have triggered alarm, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced Monday in Jerusalem.
The aid will be coordinated by Mashav, Israel’s national aid agency, in partnership with the NGO IsraAid. Supplies will include medical equipment, water purification systems, hygiene kits, gloves, face masks, and food packages to support South Sudan’s overstretched health system.
“Israel stands by its friends in their difficult times,” Sa’ar said during a joint press conference with South Sudanese Foreign Minister Semaya Kumba, who is visiting Israel.
The outbreak has been exacerbated by an influx of refugees fleeing conflict in neighboring Sudan, placing additional pressure on South Sudan’s limited infrastructure.
South Sudan’s Foreign Ministry also issued a statement denying a recent Associated Press report claiming the country was in talks with Israel about resettling Palestinians from Gaza.
“These claims are baseless and do not reflect the official position or policy of the Government of the Republic of South Sudan,” the ministry clarified. Share this article or subscribe to our newsletter for updates.
