Israel’s Largest Dog Show Coming to Arad
Celebrating canine excellence while uplifting southern communities after months of hardship.

In a heartwarming blend of community support and canine celebration, the Israel Kennel Club will host the country’s largest international dog show on April 26 at the Municipal Market Plaza in Arad. The event isn’t just about showcasing world-class breeds it’s a show of solidarity with the residents of southern Israel, many of whom have endured great challenges in recent months.
Following the cancellation of the club’s northern exhibitions due to ongoing security concerns, the move to Arad is both practical and deeply symbolic. This year's show is a moment of joy and reprieve for the region, bringing hundreds of dogs, handlers, and dog lovers together for a day of festivity and companionship.
Sponsored by Royal Canin, a brand known for its commitment to canine health, the show will feature around 800 dogs representing 130 breeds, competing across 10 rings. Categories include puppies, pairs, seniors, and more, with judging based on appearance, structure, temperament, and coat. The event will culminate with the selection of a coveted Show Star a celebration of excellence in dog breeding.
“This is a great opportunity to bring a unique and festive event directly to the people of the South,” said Doron Rakhlin, Chairman of the Israel Kennel Club. “We want to connect the public to the fascinating world of documented dog breeding and deepen their understanding and appreciation for each breed’s unique qualities.”
In addition to the formal competitions, attendees can enjoy special performances including “Dancing with Dogs” by Roni Shagai runner-up of America’s Got Talent and a Mondioring demonstration, a canine sport new to Israel that introduces unexpected challenges for dogs and handlers alike.
Royal Canin Israel CEO Christian Tashb emphasized the company’s ongoing mission: “We aim to support responsible breeding and prevent abandonment by providing tailored nutrition and health solutions for dogs of all types.”
With its joyful atmosphere and noble purpose, this year’s dog show in Arad offers more than ribbons and trophies. It brings together people and pets in a celebration of loyalty, care, and community values at the heart of Israeli society.
