Israel invests $40 million in cutting-edge drone technology
Advanced autonomous systems to enhance battlefield precision and operational superiority.
The Israeli Defense Ministry has committed $40 million to acquiring advanced drones and autonomous systems from Haifa-based Elbit Systems Ltd. These state-of-the-art technologies are set to revolutionize intelligence gathering and precision strikes, ensuring the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) maintain a technological edge on the battlefield.
Developed collaboratively by the Defense Ministry’s Directorate of Defense Research & Development (DDR&D), IDF ground forces, and Elbit Systems, the new systems feature cutting-edge capabilities designed for diverse military missions. Brig. Gen. Yehuda Almakias, head of DDR&D’s research and development department, highlighted the importance of these acquisitions, saying, “These acquisitions ensure that troops can optimally execute their battlefield missions. The DDR&D will continue maintaining Israel’s technological battlefield superiority and supporting the current war efforts.”
Elbit Systems, a global leader in defense technology, has been instrumental in advancing Israel’s Robotics and Autonomous Systems (RAS) capabilities. Haim Delmar, executive vice president and general manager for C4i and Cyber at Elbit, emphasized the company's commitment to innovation: “We are dedicated to delivering reliable and efficient systems with advanced capabilities for enhanced battlefield dominance and operational control.
