Israeli Gymnasts Win Four Medals at European Acrobatic Championships

Two golds, two silvers, and a bronze mark a historic performance for Team Israel in Luxembourg.

In a breathtaking display of strength, grace, and teamwork, Israel’s national acrobatic gymnastics team delivered one of its finest performances ever at the 2025 European Championships in Luxembourg, earning four medals including two golds and two silvers on a historic day for Israeli sports.

Leading the charge was the senior men’s group of Or Abraham, Lior Borodin, Rotem Amihai, and Tomer Offir, who captured the all-around gold after excelling in all three routines: Balance, Dynamic, and Combined. Their final performance, executed with exceptional difficulty and precision, outscored competitors from Great Britain and Germany, placing them at the top of the podium.

Their triumph marked a remarkable improvement from their previous silver finish, showcasing the fruits of over five years of training together and solidifying their status as one of Europe’s elite acrobatic squads.

Israel’s second gold came in the mixed pairs category, where seasoned athletes Amy Refaeli and Yonatan Fridman stunned judges with a flawless Combined routine. Scoring 29.040, the highest mark of the day in any category, the duo secured gold ahead of Ukraine and Germany with a total of 86.000. Refaeli and Fridman, already decorated on the world stage, once again proved themselves among the sport’s finest.

In the women’s group final, the team of Ori Dekel, Sivan Gerber, and Roni Rotman earned silver with an emotionally resonant and technically dynamic routine. Narrowly missing gold to Portugal, their performance still bested strong competition from France and Belgium.

Israel’s medal haul was rounded out by a bronze in the women’s pairs event, thanks to Maya Velner and Rony Cohen. Though edged by Great Britain in the finals, their finish represented a significant milestone for Israeli gymnastics.

With a total of four medals, Israel ranked among the top nations at the 2025 championships, continuing its upward trajectory in international acrobatic gymnastics. The results reflect not only the talent of the athletes but also the strength of Israel’s national gymnastics program, which continues to earn respect and admiration on the global stage.
