The Israel Film Festival in Los Angeles turns 38 this year, and it is bringing Israel's biggest films of 2026 to American screens. The festival runs November 18 through 24, LATF USA News reports, with an opening night gala at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills on November 18.
The opening film is the Los Angeles premiere of Tell Me Everything, written, produced and directed by Moshe Rosenthal. According to LATF USA News, the film won 10 Ophir Awards, Israel's equivalent of the Academy Awards, including Best Film and Best Director, and it is Israel's submission for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards.
The festival's Centerpiece Spotlight is the North American premiere of Topol: On Top of the World, a documentary directed by Alon Gur Arye about the life of legendary Israeli actor Chaim Topol. Topol was Israel's most internationally successful actor and earned two Academy Award nominations, LATF USA News reports.
The slate holds 15 feature films and documentaries, according to the report. The organizers say the programming is nonpartisan, offers differing points of view and aims to build understanding of Israeli culture through storytelling. Among the documentaries is The Bridge, which follows ten young Israeli survivors of the October 7 attacks as they travel from Israel to Los Angeles to attend the Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy Camp, LATF USA News reports. Another documentary pays tribute to Oscar-winning director Moshe Mizrahi through the eyes of his partner, filmmaker Michal Bat-Adam, and the daily letters between them.
The festival will also honor Moshe Edery, CEO and co-founder of United King Films, with its 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award, according to the report. LATF USA News describes the festival's mission as spotlighting Israel's film and television industry, enriching the American picture of Israeli life and opening doors for cooperation between the American and Israeli industries.
