Israel Sends Over 900,000 Tons of Aid to Gaza Despite ICC Allegations
Data reveals extensive humanitarian efforts in stark contrast to international claims.
Israel has facilitated the delivery of nearly 900,000 tons of food and other essential supplies into Gaza over the past year, according to official data released last Friday. The announcement follows the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) decision to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, alleging they deprived Gaza’s civilians of necessities like food and medical supplies.
The data challenges the ICC’s claims, painting a vastly different picture of Israel’s policies toward the Gaza Strip. Over the past year, approximately 40,000 trucks delivered food into Gaza, along with 51,000 liters of water, 30,000 tons of medical equipment, and 26 kilotons of cooking gas. Since the start of the war triggered by Hamas’ October 7 attacks, more than 57,000 aid trucks carrying 1.13 million tons of supplies have entered Gaza.
These shipments include over 5.7 million vaccines, including those for polio, and 32,000 liters of fuel, ensuring critical humanitarian needs are met. On average, residents in northern Gaza received 112 liters of water per day, while those in central and southern areas received 39 liters and 24 liters, respectively.
Israel has firmly rejected the ICC’s allegations, calling them false and antisemitic. The accusations come amidst ongoing conflict following the October 7 attacks in which Hamas-led terrorists killed 1,200 Israelis and abducted 251 others. Since then, Israel has intensified its efforts to neutralize Hamas while maintaining humanitarian corridors for Gaza’s civilian population.
The sheer scale of aid delivered underscores Israel’s commitment to distinguishing between combatants and civilians, even under the strain of ongoing hostilities. As Israel continues its fight against terrorism, its humanitarian contributions highlight a dedication to supporting civilian life in Gaza despite the challenges of war.
