United Hatzalah and Israel Advocacy Group Support Northern Israeli Communities with Vital Aid

Lifesaving Supplies Arrive Amid Growing Tensions in the North.

In a remarkable show of solidarity and swift action, the Israel Advocacy Group (IAG) and United Hatzalah have joined forces to deliver essential medical equipment to communities in Israel’s northern region. Since the tragic events of October 7, northern Israel has faced daily bombardments, prompting the evacuation of over 80,000 residents, while countless others endure relentless attacks as they strive to protect their homes. Despite the danger, local civil emergency teams and residents continue to stand guard, fortified now with critical medical support.

Founded by former Israeli ambassador to the U.S., Dr. Michael Oren, the Israel Advocacy Group was created in direct response to the October 7 attack to focus on supporting Israel’s north. In recent days, with assistance from Col. (Res.) Gil Shavit of the IDF’s Northern Command, Dr. Oren met with leaders and emergency teams in frontline communities to understand their needs. There, he encountered urgent shortages of life-saving supplies, including oxygen tanks and tourniquets. Last summer, Oren volunteered in the Upper Galilee’s Kibbutz Kfar Blum, where he saw firsthand how such shortages could impact frontline response.

Thanks to a $100,000 donation from Jewish philanthropist Steven Lavin of Chicago, IAG was able to act quickly. Dr. Oren reached out to Eli Beer, founder and president of United Hatzalah, who agreed to coordinate and deliver these supplies. United Hatzalah’s longstanding presence and dedicated volunteers in the area made them ideal partners for the initiative.

United Hatzalah's truck recently arrived in the Upper Galilee, bringing with it vital medical supplies, which are now being distributed to communities throughout the region. The delivery includes oxygen tanks and generators, tactical stretchers, infusion kits, CPR mannequins, and other first aid equipment. This support will enable local emergency and medical teams to respond more effectively, improving the quality of care for those injured in ongoing attacks. United Hatzalah’s volunteers continue to operate in the region despite constant threats, selflessly risking their lives to provide lifesaving aid.

Expressing gratitude for the effort, Dr. Oren said, “I’m deeply grateful to Col. (Res.) Shavit, Steve Lavin, and Eli Beer for their commitment to our beleaguered northern communities. Above all, I am grateful to these brave Israelis for defending our precious northern border. We must do everything in our power to ensure that these courageous people have the equipment, medical and otherwise, to defend their homes and our country.”

Giora Zaltz, Head of the Upper Galilee Regional Council, emphasized how vital this support has been, saying, “This is the fifth or sixth time since the beginning of the war that United Hatzalah representatives have arrived in the Upper Galilee to assist in any way possible. The new medical equipment will significantly improve our teams’ ability to provide urgent care. Our collaboration with IAG and United Hatzalah is of great importance, and we thank Dr. Michael Oren and Col. (Res.) Gil Shavit for their steadfast support.”

Eli Beer reinforced United Hatzalah’s dedication, adding, “United Hatzalah is committed to providing professional lifesaving emergency medical treatment across Israel in record speed. We are proud to stand by the north during this difficult time and continue to expand our fleet and capacity in the region. Since October 7, the organization has taken major steps to be ready for the next national emergency.”

As these vital partnerships continue to safeguard the north, Israel’s resilience shines. The commitment of organizations like United Hatzalah and IAG underscores the collective determination to protect communities across Israel.
