Israel’s Population Set to Hit 10 Million Milestone

Israel is set to reach a significant milestone in the coming weeks, as the country's population is expected to surpass 10 million. This news comes from data released by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics ahead of Rosh Hashanah, marking an important moment in the nation’s history.

As the Hebrew year 5784 comes to an end, approximately 7.689 million Israelis (78.6%) identify as Jewish, while 2.095 million (21.4%) are Arab. The population grew by 118,000 over the past year, a growth rate of 1.9%, underscoring the steady increase in Israel’s demographic numbers.

During the past 12 months, Israel saw 183,000 new births, while 55,000 people passed away. Additionally, 33,000 new Jewish immigrants arrived under the Law of Return, although a net decrease of about 10,000 people was recorded in the population registry, reflecting emigration and other factors.
