Historic Western Wall Stone to Represent Israel at 2025 Osaka Expo
The symbolic gesture will highlight Jewish heritage alongside Israeli innovation.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry is preparing to transport a stone from the Western Wall to the 2025 World Expo in Osaka, Japan, marking a rare and symbolic move that will showcase Jewish heritage alongside Israeli innovation.
The Israel Antiquities Authority will oversee the removal and transfer of the stone from the southern section of the Wall. According to reports, the cost of the transport operation is estimated at $32,525.
The last time a stone from the Western Wall was transferred was five years ago, when it was sent to an exposition in the United States. Such moves are exceptionally rare, given the deep religious and historical significance of the site.
The Western Wall, a remnant of the Second Temple, is the holiest place where Jews can freely pray and serves as a powerful symbol of Jewish resilience and continuity.
The Israeli booth at the Osaka Expo will blend modern Israeli innovation with Jewish cultural heritage, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the country’s past, present, and future.
The 2025 World Expo, running from April to October, will feature 158 participating countries, providing Israel with a global platform to highlight its contributions to technology, culture, and history.
