Houthi Terror Sites Targeted in Widespread IAF Strikes
Massive overnight operation targets Iranian-backed threats after continued missile and drone attacks on Israel.

In a powerful show of force and precision, the Israeli Air Force launched a major overnight offensive against Houthi terror infrastructure across Yemen. The operation, involving around 20 aircraft and over 50 precision-guided munitions, targeted strategic facilities in the ports of Al Hudaydah, Ras Isa, and Salif, as well as the Ras Kanatib power plant.
This latest strike came in direct response to continued assaults by the Iranian-backed Houthis, who have launched numerous UAV and missile attacks aimed at Israeli civilian areas. In the face of these provocations, Israel’s defense establishment made it clear that such aggression would not go unanswered.
“These ports are being used by the Houthi terrorist regime to smuggle weapons from Iran,” the Israel Defense Forces stated. “These arms are then used in attacks against the State of Israel and our allies.”
The targeted infrastructure plays a key role in enabling the Houthis’ maritime terrorism campaign, which has disrupted international shipping and threatened stability in the Red Sea. Among the critical targets hit was the Galaxy Leader a commercial ship hijacked by Houthi forces in late 2023 and retrofitted with radar systems for monitoring maritime traffic.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz emphasized the message behind the operation. “The same rule applies to Yemen as to Tehran,” he stated. “Anyone who harms Israel will be harmed. The Houthis will continue to pay a heavy price for their terror.” Operation “Black Flag” was described as a decisive strike aimed at neutralizing future threats.
As the Israeli aircraft completed their mission, Houthi terrorists retaliated by launching two ballistic missiles toward Israel, triggering sirens in several areas. While the IDF reported intercept attempts were underway, no injuries or damage have been confirmed.
This strike follows a weekend incident in which another Houthi missile aimed at Israeli territory was successfully intercepted. The consistent threat has kept communities in Judea and around the Dead Sea on high alert.
The scale of the Houthi threat cannot be understated. Since November 2023, they have launched dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones at Israel in coordination with Hamas, alongside attacks on over 100 international merchant vessels in the Red Sea. Several ships were sunk, and four sailors lost their lives in this terror campaign.
The IDF has responded with multiple counter-operations over the past months, including “Golden Jewel,” a targeted mission against Sanaa International Airport. These actions are part of a broader strategy to dismantle terror infrastructures and protect international maritime security.
As always, Israel stands firm, defending not only its people but also the stability of the wider region from Iranian-sponsored terror. In the face of growing threats, Israel remains steadfast in its commitment to security, justice, and the right to defend its sovereignty.
