Key Perpetrator of Oct. 7 Massacre Neutralized in Israeli Airstrike
Key Figures in Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah Neutralized.
In a decisive response to the October 7 massacre, Israeli airstrikes have successfully targeted and eliminated a key Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist in Gaza and a senior Hezbollah commander in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Monday.
In Gaza, the Air Force took out Ahmed Al-Dalu, a member of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military intelligence unit. Al-Dalu was directly involved in the brutal attack on Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where at least 52 Israelis were massacred. This strike comes as part of ongoing IDF operations in the Rafah area, where soldiers identified and eliminated a terrorist squad storing landmines intended for attacks on Israeli troops.
Simultaneously, in southern Lebanon, an airstrike eliminated Abu Ali Rida, a high-ranking Hezbollah commander in the Baraachit region. Rida was instrumental in orchestrating rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on Israeli forces and coordinating with local Hezbollah operatives. The strike was part of broader IDF efforts to dismantle Hezbollah's infrastructure in the region.
Since the horrific attacks by Hamas on October 7, Hezbollah has intensified its aggression, launching rockets and drones at northern Israeli communities daily. These attacks have displaced over 68,000 residents, with Hezbollah vowing to continue its offensive to prevent their return.
Under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, Hezbollah is prohibited from operating in southern Lebanon. However, the group has continuously violated this mandate, prompting Israel to take action to protect its borders and civilians.
The October 7 attacks by Hamas resulted in the deaths of at least 1,200 people and saw 252 Israelis and foreigners taken hostage. Of those hostages, 97 remain, with over 30 declared dead. Additionally, Hamas has been holding two Israeli civilians captive since 2014 and 2015, along with the bodies of two soldiers killed in 2014.
These targeted airstrikes are a critical part of Israel's ongoing efforts to neutralize threats and restore security to its citizens.
