Israeli Airstrikes Hit 45 Targets in Gaza

IDF operations continue amidst international ceasefire efforts

In the past 24 hours, Israeli fighter jets have targeted and destroyed around 45 terrorist sites throughout the Gaza Strip, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). These targets included command centers, armed terrorist squads, rocket launchers, tunnel shafts, and other key infrastructures.

Ground forces have been actively engaged in the Rafah area of southern Gaza, conducting raids, locating weapon caches, and neutralizing terrorists in close-quarter urban combat. The Israeli Air Force (IAF) also struck a location in Rafah that was being used to prepare rockets aimed at nearby Israeli communities.

Earlier this week, an IDF unit operating in Rafah was ambushed by six armed terrorists emerging from a nearby building. The terrorists were quickly eliminated by a military aircraft, and subsequent raids on the building revealed a tunnel shaft leading to an underground hideout and a stockpile of weapons.

The IDF's offensive continues as international efforts to broker a ceasefire deal intensify. On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken criticized Hamas's response to the latest ceasefire proposal, labeling it as unworkable.

“A deal was on the table that was virtually identical to the proposal that Hamas made on May 6 a deal that the entire world is behind, a deal Israel has accepted. Hamas could have answered with a single word: ‘Yes,’” Blinken stated. “Instead, Hamas waited nearly two weeks and then proposed more changes, a number of which go beyond positions that had previously taken and accepted.”

Blinken's remarks came during his two-day visit to Israel, underscoring the ongoing international pressure on Hamas to accept a ceasefire and bring an end to the hostilities.

Israel's commitment to defending its citizens and dismantling terrorist infrastructure remains unwavering. The nation's efforts are a testament to its resolve in maintaining security and peace for its people and the region.
