New Unmanned Cargo Plane Revealed by Israeli Aviation Company
Revolutionizing Deliveries with Advanced eVTOL Technology.
Imagine receiving deliveries or sending heavy shipments without needing a plane or a truck. The unmanned vehicle sector is an area where Israeli technology is playing a major role, whether for military applications or commerce. AIR, a leading Israeli maker of eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft, has unveiled its latest innovation: the AIR ONE Cargo vehicle. This new model can carry a payload of 550 pounds, surpassing the 440-pound capacity of its piloted, passenger-carrying counterpart.
The company's impressive performance in 2023, generating over $1 million in revenue, sets the stage for ambitious targets in 2024 and 2025. The AIR ONE Cargo promises to transport heavy cargo at speeds comparable to the manned AirOne, designed for the consumer market.
“Venturing into this new market with AIR ONE Cargo is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the integration of eVTOLs into all spheres of daily life, for a variety of use cases,” said AIR CEO and co-founder Rani Plaut. “We expanded our offerings in response to strong market demand, and the feedback we’ve already received affirms that AIR ONE’s robust capabilities and simple, cost-effective design make it an extremely agile platform, uniquely able to scale across different uses.”
The demand for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is soaring, with estimates suggesting they will handle 80% of future deliveries. UAVs offer significant cost savings on manpower and enhance safety by eliminating the risk of human injury. Additionally, UAVs are more fuel-efficient and can operate faster and more efficiently than traditional planes or trucks.
Currently, eVTOLs have wide-ranging applications, particularly for military purposes and emergency medical supply deliveries. As the technology advances, eVTOLs will manage heavier loads and operate with even greater efficiency. AIR anticipates receiving FAA certification for its passenger model by late 2024, marking a significant milestone for the company.
Based in Pardes Hana, Israel, with an office in Ft. Worth, Texas, AIR continues to push the boundaries of aviation technology, bringing innovative solutions to both military and commercial sectors.
